Most of our students enter into Finch Woods Academy at below age expectations and norms in many academic areas. Once settled and attending well, whatever their starting levels and norms we expect all students to make academic progress in line with their mainstream peers.
With the abolition of National Curriculum levels and the introduction of revised GCSE grades, Finch Woods Academy has introduced their own version of P Scales to measure and monitor progress.
All students are aware of the measures and understand what levels of progress they should be making. All Learning spaces display the following poster to act as a constant reminder.
